The quality of my connection wasn’t great during my last session - how can I improve it next time?

Experiencing poor connection during a therapy session can be frustrating. To avoid this, we recommend a minimum download and upload speed of 350kb/s for a stable video connection (most broadband and 4G connections comfortably support this).

To improve your connection quality, try the following steps:

Switching Connections:

  • If you are on WiFi using a mobile device, try switching to mobile data and vice versa.

For WiFi Users:

  • Sit as close to your router as possible.
  • Ensure other devices connected to your WiFi are not running data-intensive applications, such as streaming movies or video calls.
  • Pause any file downloads or uploads.
  • Minimize internet-hogging applications on your computer, such as program updates or large file uploads.

Browser Tips:

  • Ensure your browser is up-to-date. Running the latest version will help create a more stable experience. Generally, browsers update automatically, but you can manually check and update Chrome here.
  • Restart your browser if it has been running for a while. Avoid having many tabs open during your session.
  • Try Incognito mode to prevent browser extensions from blocking your camera.

General Tips:

  • Limit background tasks by closing applications like YouTube and Dropbox before your session.
  • Try restarting your device.
